The Emergency Department at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center is well known for its advances in the treatment of all pediatric and adult emergencies. Located on the first floor of the hospital’s new critical care pavilion, the department maintains an outstanding team of emergency physicians, nurses and technicians backed by some of the field’s most sophisticated resuscitative and monitoring equipment.
With over 15,000 square foot, with 30 treatment rooms and a dedicated prompt care section, the Emergency Department is designed for maximum efficiency. A novel, direct-to-bed approach for patient assessments assures that patients are seen in the shortest time possible by the most appropriate health care providers. Registration of patients occurs directly at the bedside and all records are electronically generated and archived.
Although designed for the rapid care of patients with minor problems, this Emergency Department truly excels in the resuscitation of critically ill patients. Using the latest in Emergency Medicine techniques, many of which were developed right here at Lourdes, the Emergency Department is prepared to immediately care for the most unstable of patients. In addition the Emergency Department has direct access to all the resources of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center to assist in the stabilization and admission of these patients.
For Heart Patients, Lourdes ER Can Now Get ECG Signal While Patient is in Transport
At Our Lady of Lourdes, the Emergency Department can receive web-based transmission of the ECG heart rhythm from EMT services equipped to transmit such readings en route. That means the emergency room and the cardiac catheterization lab are ready exactly as needed as soon as the heart patient arrives at the medical center. Learn more.
