The bariatric surgery program at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center is accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), the national unified accrediting agency representing the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
To earn this accreditation, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center underwent a series of reviews during which all aspects of the program’s surgical processes were closely examined and data on health outcomes was collected.
Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center offers a Comprehensive Bariatric Lifestyle Program, a service that combines the surgical component with a multidisciplinary approach to successful long-term weight-loss both pre- and post-surgery-to help patients make long-term positive lifestyle changes.
Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center offer a variety of safe and effective surgical weight loss options, including laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric band, and revisional surgery; particularly the conversion of the Lap Band to sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass.
It is important to remember that bariatric surgery is not a quick fix; surgery is most effective when paired with lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise. Patients are encouraged to deal with emotional and psychological issues that may have contributed to their condition. At Lourdes, we partner with our patients to help them reach a healthy weight goal.
