Testimonials

My experience at the Our Lady of Lourdes Nurse Anesthesia Program was both challenging and rewarding.  Having a “home base” at the Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center provided exposure to a wide variety of complex surgical cases.  In talking with students from other anesthesia programs, the robust clinical experience I received is not universal to all programs; especially those not tied to a medical center. I felt extremely well-prepared and ready to practice from day one thanks to diverse rotations, strong preceptors, and knowledgeable instructors.  ~ Doug Hurley ‘18

My time at Our Lady of Lourdes included an intensive clinical experience. Daily, I was given the opportunity to take part in a multitude of surgeries ranging from obstetrics, hearts, craniotomies, robotics, transplants and the typical routine surgeries that CRNA’s encounter every day. All right in one clinical setting! The acuity of the patients I was able to treat daily, and the skills learned, prepared me well for transitioning from SRNA to CRNA after graduation. ~ Joel Wadkins 17′

My experience as a student at Our Lady of Lourdes Nurse Anesthesia Program was outstanding.  The small class-size and variety of clinical sites offers the best opportunities for individualized learning and development of knowledge and skills application.  Exposure to anesthetic management in fast-paced ambulatory settings as well as complex, high acuity settings really prepares the graduate to provide safe and effective anesthesia for all types of patients.  Most people considering nurse anesthesia school know that it is quite rigorous and challenging.  Lourdes is no different in that respect.  However, Lourdes is unique in that the one-on-one support offered by clinical faculty and the program directors is truly extraordinary.  I couldn’t be happier with my decision to choose Lourdes for my clinical training and would highly recommend the program to others looking for an exceptionally rewarding experience  Thank you for such an amazing professional and personal opportunity!   Colleen Agostini (Class of 2016)

“I am truly privileged to have been awarded my CRNA certificate from the Our Lady of Lourdes Nurse Anesthesia Program. Lourdes provided me with an invaluable education. In addition to the extremely attentive and knowledgeable clinical faculty and program directors, what I found extremely helpful was the integration of a didactic curriculum with real-world clinical experience, the latter of which allowed me to apply my clinical acumen to a wide variety of cases/procedures. Now that I am about to embark upon my first job as a CRNA, I am confident that my Lourdes education has prepared me for success in this initial step and in all my future endeavors. I am indebted to all those affiliated with the Lourdes program who gave me the opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a CRNA!” -Anoop Banathia, Class President, Class of 2016

“The best decision I ever made was to come to the Our Lady of Lourdes Nurse Anesthesia Program to achieve my nursing anesthesia degree. The directors and faculty are exceptional in providing an atmosphere to understand how to deliver anesthesia safely and effectively. As with any anesthesia program, this program was very challenging and demanded a lot of time and energy. However, graduating from Lourdes has made me extremely confident in my skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality anesthetic care to all types of surgical clients. The directors did an outstanding job in all aspects including: teaching the material, board preparation, clinical rotations, and practicing clinical skills. Obviously, I cannot say enough great things about this program, and I am truly glad to be a graduate from the Our Lady of Lourdes Nurse Anesthesia program. I cannot thank you enough for such an amazing opportunity!”  Jonathan Katz (Class of 2015)

I feel privileged and honored to tell people that I am a 2013 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Nurse Anesthesia program. The 27-month program was both physically and mentally demanding and encompassed everything necessary that I needed to prepare myself for the challenge of mastering my board certification examination. The high-level acuity and complex clinical exposure I received at OLOL provided me with the knowledge, experience, and self-reliance to become a safe independent anesthesia provider. I will always be indebted to OLOL forgiving me the opportunity to follow my dreams and reach my career goals. Kimberly Wunder, CRNA, Class of 2013

Working with the high acuity patient population here at OLOL on a daily basis has not only afforded me ample experience as a student, but it has also provided me with the confidence that I need to begin my career as an anesthesia provider. The educators and clinical faculty do a superb job of incorporating the didactic curriculum into the OR setting. The high exposure to diverse patient populations and innovative surgical procedures that I encountered here at OLOL, leaves me assured that I will be well equipped to practice in any clinical setting. HollyBrogan, SRNA, Class of 2012

Proud to be a Lourdes graduate! The training that I received at Lourdes prepared me well above, and beyond for my practice as a CRNA. The pillars of critical thinking, independence, and safe patient care were constant staples of the curriculum. The amount and mix of clinical hours required at Lourdes were difficult. However, it was during those call shifts that provided me some of the most critically intense scenarios. Yes it was a challenging program, but I was more than ready to practice independently day one on the job as a CRNA. If you can take care of a Lourdes patient, you can take care of a patient anywhere! Jacqueline Mitchell, CRNA, Class of 2010
