Lourdes Holds Ethics Conference on Human Trafficking

Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center will hold its 31st annual Ethics Conference on Wednesday, November 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Lourdes’ Physicians Conference Room (by the Emergency Department entrance), 1565 Vesper Blvd., in Camden, NJ.

This year’s conference is titled, “Shining the Light on Human Trafficking,” and will be presented by Kathleen Coll, SSJ; a member of the board and executive committee for US Catholic Sisters Against Human Trafficking and executive director and co-founder of Dawn’s Place (; Survivor Ann Marie Jones, peer specialist at Dawn’s Place; and Teresita Hinnegan, MMS, a member of the Medical Mission Sisters and co-founder of Dawn’s Place.

The presentation will review the signs of human trafficking, the traumatic symptoms experienced by victims and survivors, and entry points for health care clinicians to apply protocols.

This is a continuing education credit program. It is offered to physicians, nurses, administrators, social workers, chaplains/clergy, attorneys, trustees/board members, mission representatives, patient representatives, and ethics committee members. All other interested parties are welcome.

The cost for the program is $30. The cost for students and seniors is $25. A $10 fee will be charged for any cancellations.
