Lourdes Chief of Breast Imaging Named Treasurer of Executive Committee for NJ Board of Medical Examiners

Kathleen V. Greatrex, MD

Haddonfield resident Kathleen V. Greatrex, MD, radiologist and Chief of Breast Imaging at Lourdes, was recently elected to serve as Treasurer of the Executive Committee for the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Greatrex was appointed a member of the State Board by former Governor Chris Christie in July 2017.

The State Board of Medical Examiners protects public’s health, safety, and welfare. The Board licenses medical professionals, adopts regulations, determines standards of practice, investigates allegations of physician misconduct, and disciplines those who do not adhere to requirements – thereby assuring the public that the physicians are qualified, competent, and honest. The Board is also responsible for the oversight of a number of allied health providers.

In addition to serving as Lourdes’ Chief of Breast Imaging, Dr. Greatrex is also the past chair of the department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Lourdes. She holds the distinction of being the first female president of the medical staff in the 60-year history of the medical center. She has served as a board member of the Lourdes Health Foundation and in 2013 she was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Lourdes Health System. Outside of Lourdes, Dr. Greatrex serves on the Board of Trustees for Immaculata University.

Dr. Greatrex dedicates a great deal of her time to educating women about breast cancer. She received Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Robert Andrews and a Joint Legislative Commendation from the State of New Jersey for fighting breast cancer and educating her patients and the community about this disease.

Dr. Greatrex has been named in SJ, South Jersey, and Philadelphia magazines as a “Top Doc” in Diagnostic Radiology multiple times over the course of her career.
