Lourdes Announces Addition of Movement Disorders Neurologist to its Cherry Hill, NJ Outpatient Practice

Giordano Farmer DOLourdes Health System recently announced the addition of a fellowship-trained, subspecialty neurologist, Jill Giordano Farmer, DO, MPH, to its multi-specialty center located at 1 Brace Road, Cherry Hill, NJ. Dr. Farmer specializes in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.

Dr. Farmer is part of Drexel Neurosciences Institute (DNI), where she is an assistant professor of neurology and serves as director of Drexel’s Movement Disorder and Parkinson’s Disease Program. Lourdes and DNI have an agreement whereby subspecialty neurologists have regular office hours at Lourdes’ convenient outpatient Cherry Hill location.

Prior to joining Drexel, Dr. Farmer was director of the Movement Disorders Program at Capital Health System in Trenton, NJ.

Dr. Farmer completed a fellowship in movement disorders and a residency in neurology at Georgetown University Hospital, where she served as chief resident. She completed an internship in family medicine at Georgetown University-Providence Hospital.

Dr. Farmer earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, and her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson School of Public Health. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.

Board-certified in neurology, Dr. Farmer is a member of the Movement Disorders Society and the American Academy of Neurology. She has presented her work at regional and national conferences, and her research has been published in medical journals such as the Neurology and Neurocase. She is currently on the editorial board of Practical Neurology, where she reviews articles and contributes content on movement disorders.

A member of numerous professional committees, Dr. Farmer has served as an ethics committee member for Georgetown University, an internal investigational review board member for Capital Health, and an alumni mentor/advisor for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine.  

Dr. Farmer has received multiple honors for her work with movement disorders, including a research grant from the National Institute of Aging. She has also been recognized by the American Academy of Neurology Advocacy Editorial Board and the American Academy of Neurology Palatucci Advocacy Leadership Forum. Dr. Farmer has a certification from the National Parkinson’s Foundation Allied Team, and won the Health Care Hero award from Capital Health.
