Lourdes Cardiologist Named a Gloucester County NAACP Award Winner

IMG_1655Troy Randle, DO, FACC, FACOI, a board-certified cardiologist with Lourdes Cardiology/South Jersey Heart Group, recently received a Game Changer Award from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Gloucester County chapter.   Dr. Randle, who was presented with the Game Changer Medical Award, was one of 14 recipients honored at the chapter’s awards ceremony held on October 25.

The theme of 2015 awards ceremony was “Honoring Local Heroes.”   The honorees where noted for making a difference and supporting the NAACP and its work to empower members of communities of color throughout Gloucester County, the State of New Jersey and beyond.

Dr. Randle, a Gloucester County resident, joined Lourdes Cardiology/South Jersey Heart Group in 2009.   In addition to his role at Lourdes, Dr. Randle serves as assistant program director for Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Cardiology Fellowship program.   A former fellow of the program, Dr. Randle became an active member with a goal to help other fellows develop and grow in the field of cardiology.

Dr. Randle completed his medical degree, internship and residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he served as chief resident of Internal Medicine.   He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Rutgers University-Cook College.   Before beginning his career in medicine, Dr. Randle was a member of multiple research teams in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Nuclear Cardiology, Dr. Randle is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.   Dr. Randle serves on the Lourdes Cardiology/South Jersey Heart Group Board of Directors and is a member of the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Board.

Dr. Randle belongs to numerous medical associations, including the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Cardiology, the Association of Black Cardiologists, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Randle is active in community outreach and providing healthcare services to underserved communities, as well as mentoring high school, college and medical students.
