Lourdes Health System Appoints New Dean of Nursing School
Lourdes Health System recently appointed Lisa M. Easterby, MSN, RN, CNE, to dean of Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing. Easterby will be responsible for carrying out the school’s education mission and initiatives including planning, implementing and evaluating nursing and anesthesia students’ learning experiences. She is also the school’s senior director of Education.
Dr. Anne McGinley, former dean of Lourdes School of Nursing, assumed the role of chief nursing officer and vice president of Education at Research at Lourdes Health System. McGinley will work alongside Easterby in her new position.
“We welcome Lisa as the new dean of the School of Nursing,” says Alexander J. Hatala, president and chief executive officer of Lourdes Health System. “Lisa’s leadership will guide the school as it continues to evolve and grow, and her vision will encourage creativity amongst students and faculty. These attributes will enable our students to experience leading-edge education methods and clinical modalities.”
“I am proud to serve at the helm of the school and to further its reputation for excellence and quality in nursing education,” says Easterby. “We will continue to promote the mission and values of Lourdes, provide education and support that is student-centered, and focus on graduating nurses who are well prepared to care for diverse patient populations in a variety of health care settings.”
Easterby joined the School of Nursing faculty in 1982, and was promoted to curriculum coordinator. Two years later, she was promoted to coordinator of Academic Affairs. She is currently a student in Duquesne’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
