Our Auxiliaries

For over 53 years, dedicated Auxilians have supported Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County through fundraising, patient services and community activities. The auxiliary consists of men and women from all walks of life who tirelessly give of their time, talents and energies. These members are our Ambassadors in the community.

Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center Auxiliary

From its humble beginnings in the parish hall of St. John's Church in Collingswood on April 16, 1946, the Auxiliary has provided moral and financial support for Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. Events such as an annual ticket auction, Christmas house tour & toy drive and white elephant cocktail party and auction are just a few of the fund raising projects hosted by the Auxiliary. Associates of the medical are also treated to monthly jewelry, linen, leather and clothing sales. Pictures of our precious newborns are also available for new parents to purchase! Proceeds from these activities have funded equipment or services for the Intensive Care Nursery, New Jersey Heart Institute, and on-site child care for associates. In all, the Auxiliary has raised over $1.5 million dollars for the Medical Center. Most recently, the Auxiliary pledged $300,000 dollars to the Delivering on a Promise Campaign.

Also a part of its fundraising efforts in support of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, the hospital's Auxiliary Executive Board oversees the operation of the hospital's gift shop located in the lobby of the Medical Center.

The Gift Shop is open Monday – Friday 9 am until 7 pm and 11 am to 5 pm Saturday and 1 pm to 5 pm Sunday. The Medical Center gift shop offers a variety of flowers and plants, unique gift items, magazines, greeting cards, balloons, clothing, candy, and toiletries.

Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County Combined Auxiliaries

The Combined Auxiliaries of Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County is made up of over 70 dedicated, hardworking women from several of our local communities. Their tireless efforts include hosting such events as a Spring and Holiday Bazaar, Trips, an Annual Fashion Show, and various sales including handbags, books and jewelry. The Auxiliaries run two Gift Shops, the Ivy Nook and the Rosewood as well as the Thrift Depot in Riverside.

In 2005, the Auxiliary raised $110,000 towards the purchase of an R-2 Image Checker, a special scanner which helps in the early detection of breast cancer. Additionally, the Auxiliary has helped to purchase new monitors for the Intensive Care and Cardiac Care Units and a donation of $100,000 toward the Pneumatic Tube System in the new OR/ICU/CCU building expansion.
