The Lourdes Stroke Center is led by Medical Director Lisa Shultz [151K PDF], M.D., a dedicated, full-time hospital-based neurologist. Dr. Shultz is part of Lourdes' interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, comprised of physicians, nurses, occupational, physical and speech therapists, social workers, psychologists, and dietitians who provide patients with comprehensive treatment options. At Lourdes, stroke patients are centralized on one floor of the medical center, offering enhanced communication and a concentrated flow of services tailored to meet their needs. In addition, nurses on the stroke unit are specially trained to follow the latest stroke protocols advanced by nationally recognized healthcare organizations.
