Outcomes
The Rehabilitation Center monitors data on the quality and efficiency of services. Lourdes welcomes inquiries related to outcomes of our treatment. As an example of how our data compares to others, Lourdes rehab patients consistently improve better than the national average, demonstrating functional changes in shorter times. In 2005, Lourdes patients scored more than 26 points on a scale used to measure daily improvement of patients in 18 functional areas, compared to the national severity-adjusted average of 21 points. The higher the number, the greater the functional improvement.
Patients made these improvements during shorter inpatient stays. The average treatment at Lourdes in 2005 lasted 11.4 days, compared to the national average of 12.5 days. Nearly 88 percent of patients discharged from Lourdes returned home, compared to the national average of 77 percent. In the fourth quarter of 2005, patients gave Lourdes a 91 out of 100 for satisfaction, placing the center in the top fifth of 200 facilities nationwide.
