Diagnostic Radiology

Radiologists use a variety of forms of imaging to confirm healthy function and anatomy and to detect and evaluate abnormalities, disease and injury. Often a combination of these approaches is helpful in providing the fullest possible information.

Different types of radiologic imaging can perform similar or complementary functions. For example, radiologists can chose from a number of radiologic approaches to aid and guide biopsies of various organs and sites.

The team may choose to use more than one imaging modality for a more complete picture of a particular body site.
