Why she chose Lourdes Center for Public Health:
"I chose to work at Lourdes because I admire its values and commitment to serving vulnerable communities. This past summer, I worked on a Community Health Needs Assessment Project for the hospital. Our focus was to determine the socioeconomic factors that may play a role in healthcare access in the river communities of Burlington County. This project has given me a deeper understanding of public health's importance in medicine. I am excited to integrate my experiences into future work within the public health field."

I also liked Lourdes' efforts to help those who are underserved and under-insured."

Alyssa Nardi

Career Interests: Alyssa's interests include public health and health administration.
Why she chose Lourdes Center for Public Health:
"The Lourdes Public Health Center seemed like a perfect fit because I am interested in pursuing public health as a career and I would have a great hands on opportunity to get involved with public health work. Dr. Miller offered me a chance to get involved with several studies from Step 1 to be able to see how the process that the public health system must go through to see results and be able to implement changes. Working at Lourdes was great because the other interns and I had a lot of independence to really learn the process and develop the Community Health Needs Assessment and My Care Team Web-based Diabetes Control Study ourselves. By being able to do so much work and have a good deal of independence, we were able to dive right in and learn a lot. I really enjoyed my time spent at Lourdes and feel that the projects I worked on were very rewarding."
