Lourdes Emergency Department at DEBORAH

The emergency department, operated by Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County, will reside on the grounds of Deborah, the region's premier specialty hospital. Nestled in the Pine Barrens, Deborah's location will offer both ambulances and walk-in patients hassle-free access to top-quality emergency care. The new ED will be fully equipped and operate 24 hours a day. The 10,000-square-foot facility will feature:

The new ED is expected to serve 10-to-15,000 patients a year in a 10-mile range of Deborah spanning Burlington, Ocean and Mercer Counties. Residents in these previously medically underserved areas will enjoy the benefits of a modern, cutting-edge emergency department that will offer a wide range of amenities. Lourdes Emergency Department at Deborah will provide emergency services to all patients who need care. Once stabilized, patients who are not discharged may either be admitted to Deborah, or transferred to another hospital to provide additional care as required.

At the ED's groundbreaking ceremony, John R. Ernst, president and CEO of Deborah Heart and Lung Center, and Alexander J. Hatala, president and CEO of Catholic Health East New Jersey (CHE-NJ) and Lourdes Health System, underscored the importance of the hospitals' new partnership in addressing the needs of residents in Deborah's service area. These include the communities of Browns Mills, Wrightstown, New Egypt, Lumberton, Hainesport, Eastampton, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Woodland Township, Chatsworth, Springfield, Fort Dix and McGuire Air Force Base.
