Lourdes provides an integrated, comprehensive facility that brings together a full array of prenatal testing. This includes maternal-fetal medicine specialists, genetic counseling and testing as well as diabetic counseling/education.
Prenatal testing is the foundation of any healthy pregnancy. Our highly specialized Antenatal Consultation Unit offers comprehensive prenatal testing services, including:
- Fetal well-being testing
- Non-stress test
- Biophysical profile
- Doppler (blood flow)
- Amniocentesis
- Chorionic villus sampling

Staff
Our maternal-fetal medicine specialists have subspecialty training in maternal- fetal medicine (high-risk pregnancy). These physicians are obstetricians with specialized and additional training in complicated (often called "high-risk") pregnancies. Such pregnancies may include women with pre-existing medical conditions (for example, diabetes, high-blood pressure, thyroid disease) or those with a problem in the current pregnancy such as premature labor or multiple gestation (when you carry more than one baby-twins, triplets, etc.).Our prenatal nurses, ultrasound technicians (ultrasonographers) and genetic counselors are trained to provide the highest level of prenatal care.
The Lourdes Antenatal Consultation Unit is accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. This accreditation involves a detailed and rigorous application process. It demonstrates a facility's clinical excellence and commitment to the highest quality patient care.
