Lourdes Rapid Response Team
For patient emergencies: Call “11” from any hospital telephone
Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center is committed to providing the safest care to all of its patients. In this interest, Lourdes has created its Rapid Response Team, the RRT, to urgently respond to any emergency taking place at the medical center, outside of the hospital’s critical-care units. The RRT is available to all patients on the campus, 24 hours a day.
When to call the Rapid Response Team
Families and visitors must partner in their patient’s care to help staff intervene quickly in any urgent situations. Patients, family members or visitors should dial “11” if they:
- Fear that something is wrong;
- Feel something about the patient’s condition is “just not right.”
- Observe the patient has new confusion or thinking changes, does not recognize family and friends or does not know where he or she is.
- See that the patient has changes in breathing or difficulty breathing.
What Every Patient and Family Member Should Know
To access the Rapid Response Team, users should:
- Place their call light on, if they are at beside.
- Call aloud for help.
- And, dial “11” from the nearest telephone, indicate their location and ask for help from the Rapid Response Team. The operator will contact the team, which will arrive within minutes to assess the situation and provide treatment if needed.
