Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center kicked off its partnership with WXPN's Musicians On Call program on April 18th with a concert for patients, staff and visitors.
Musicians On Call brings a variety of healing musical genres to patients' bedsides. Lourdes is the first hospital in New Jersey to have this unique volunteer wellness initiative. "Musicians On Call is a great extension of who we are and what we do every day," said Alex Hatala, Lourdes President and CEO.
Special musical guests included Helen Leicht, WXPN's mid-day host, New York artist Kenli Mattus and local singer/songwriter Birdie Busch.
"I was born here, and lived right down the street," Birdie said.

The musicians later performed for several patients bedside. Kenli said he sings his own songs as well as those of other artists. "I gauge what I think the people might want to hear," he said.
