Dr. Greatrex will receive the award for her passion, dedication and commitment to winning the fight against cancer, according to The Cancer Foundation. Komen for the Cure, Philadelphia Affiliate; the Mammography Society of Philadelphia; and the Union League of Philadelphia.
Dr. Greatrex has dedicated her life's work to breast cancer in memory of her mother, Rose Greatrex, who died from the disease at the age of 56 when Dr. Greatrex was a second year medical student at Temple University.
The Cancer Foundation for Personal Wellness works in collaboration with hospitals, cancer centers and community outreach groups to help cancer patients and their families manage lifestyle issues that result from cancer diagnoses and treatment. All services are free of charge.
