David A. Berg, M.D., recently joined the surgical team at LMA Surgical Associates, a part of Lourdes Medical Associates. Dr. Berg specializes in colorectal surgery with special interests in benign anorectal disease, diverticular disease, colonoscopy, endorectal ultrasound and laparoscopic colon surgery.

Prior to his appointment at Lourdes, Dr. Berg served as an attending surgeon at Surgical Specialists of New Jersey, LLC in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Dr. Berg graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts in 2001. From 2001 to 2008, he underwent residency training in general surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he spent two years doing surgical research on hemorrhagic shock, the inflammatory response to trauma, gastrointestinal motility and surgical simulation. In 2009, Dr. Berg completed a one-year fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Berg has presented at many national conferences, including the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Association of Program Directors in Surgery and the American College of Surgeons and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications. He is also an active member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Berg currently lives in Voorhees, New Jersey with his wife and two children.
