Lourdes is increasing the use of holistic therapies in our hospital care. That's why the Lourdes Wellness Center is offering free inpatient massages on select units at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. The massages help promote relaxation and sleep quality and decrease pain and anxiety levels, according to Kathryn Friedman, Lourdes Director of Integrative Health Care.

The 30-minute massages are available to patients in the cardiac, maternity and rehab units. Massages will be available in additional units later this fall. Patients should contact their nurse for instructions on obtaining medical clearance for a massage.
