Courier-Post and Lourdes Health System Crusade Against Cancer
Recently, the Courier-Post newspaper supported the Lourdes Health System by developing the Crusade Against Cancer program. Through a workplace charitable giving campaign, employees of the newspaper raised $16,400 for the cancer programs and outreach provided by Lourdes. Funds were used to support the Patient Navigator Program and to develop a series of community-based cancer education programs. As part of Lourdes' relationships with the Courier-Post, Dr. Eduardo Fernandez, M.D., an oncologist at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County, and Lynn Lutwin, R.N., Patient Navigator, spent the day at the Courier-Post, educating the staff about cancer prevention and early detection.
