Alexander J. Hatala
President and CEO
Lourdes Health System
Mr. Hatala is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Our Lady of Lourdes Health
System and Interim President of Cathedral Health System, Newark, New Jersey. He is
responsible for the performance and overall management of the systems and their
affiliates. Mr. Hatala is a Vice Chairman of the Board of the New Jersey Hospital
Association. He is a member of the American Hospital Association, the New Jersey
Conference of Catholic Health Care Facilities and the Greater Camden Partnership and
a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mark T. Bateman
Chief Administrative Officer
Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center
Mr. Bateman is responsible for daily operations related to the Medical Center as well
as developing appropriate accountability systems. He is also responsible for
establishing effective partnerships with the community, with physicians, employers and
other providers to insure that community needs are addressed throughout the delivery of
cost effective and quality health related services. Mr. Bateman sits on the Executive
Committee of the American Heart Association and has been named co-chair of the 2008
Heart Walk.
Eugene V. Johnson
Chief Administrative Officer
Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County
Mr. Johnson is responsible for addressing operations related issues on a day-to-day basis
and developing appropriate accountability systems to promote operational efficiencies,
while insuring the ongoing provision of quality care. He is also responsible for
establishing partnerships with the community, physicians, employers and other providers to
insure that community needs are addressed. Mr. Johnson sits on the Board of the Burlington
County Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Willingboro Rotary.
Kimberly V. Barnes
Vice President, Planning and Development
and Executive Director, Lourdes Health Foundation
Ms. Barnes directs the health system planning process including the ten year strategic plan,
the health system operating plan and service line plans. She also oversees all activities
related to marketing, public relations, fundraising and grants. Ms. Barnes sits on the Board
of the Cherry Hill Regional Chamber of Commerce.
John P. Capelli, M.D.

Medical Affairs
Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center
Dr. Capelli serves as the principal clinical administrative officer for Lourdes Health System.
He has authority over all clinical departments and ensures the concerns of the Medical Staff
are represented and addressed.
Joanne Gianndrea
Vice President
Operations
Lourdes Health System
Ms. Gianndrea directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the following departments
including Imaging Services, Laboratory and Infection Control, Respiratory Therapy and other
ancillary services. She is also serves as the liaison to the Lourdes/MegaBase partnership.
Ms. Gianndrea is a member of the Burlington County Military Affairs Committee.
Andrew Guarni
Chief Financial Officer
Lourdes Health System
Mr. Guarni is responsible for defining and establishing the necessary management and
accountability systems to support a high-performance finance and managed care function.
He is responsible for the following key functions: social accountability reporting
(charity care and community services): financial accounting and reporting; managerial
accounting and reporting (financial analysis, planning, budgeting. and cost reporting);
patient financial services; managed are strategy and contracting; and third party
reimbursement, materials management and patient access. Mr. Guarni is a member of the
Parkside Business & Community in Partnership Board.
Barbara A. Holfelner

Patient Care Services & Risk Management
Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center
Ms. Holfelner has overall responsibility for the administration and organization of Nursing
throughout Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. She assumes administrative responsibility for
the Medical Center's Risk Management and Safety programs. Ms. Holfelner sits on the Board of
the Perinatal Cooperative of Southern New Jersey, is a member of the Samaritan Hospice
Quality Committee and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives Advisory
Board.
Maureen Hetu
Chief Information Officer
Lourdes Health System
Ms. Hetu is responsible for all aspects of the organization's information technology and systems.
She provides leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives. Ms.
Hetu directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business
operations. Ms. Hetu is an active member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, serving as a Lector,
Eucharistic Minister and member of the Finance Committee.
Janet Moran

Lourdes Health System
Ms. Moran is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of Lourdes Human Capital and Human Resources initiatives. She oversees recruitment and retention, associate and labor relations, total rewards, and the delivery of human resources training and development. Ms. Moran is a member of Workforce Investment Board (WIB) Executive Committee and the Camden County Chamber of Commerce Human Resources group.
Sr. Helen Owens, OSF

Sr. Helen ensures that mission, vision and values are represented in all Lourdes processes, such
as planning, leadership development and budgeting. Additionally, Sr. Helen is responsible for ensuring that mission intergrity is preserved and promoted throughout the organization. She
oversees the Lourdes Wellness Center and Lourdes' Community Outreach programs. Sr. Helen works
closely with these programs to guarantee they are addressing and meeting the needs of the
communities they serve.
Robert E. Ruggero

Lourdes Health System
Mr. Ruggero provides administrative direction to Materials Management, Facilities Management,
Biomedical, Food and Nutrition, Pharmacy, Rehab and Post Acute Services, Security Laboratory
Medicine Support Services. He identifies and provides resources to support the Health System's
strategic initiatives and assists departments with the development and implementation of their
department goals. Mr. Ruggero is a member of the Lions Club and the Samaritan Hospice Board.
Sr. Margaret Sullivan, OSF

Sr. Marge ensures the Lourdes mission, vision and values are integrated throughout the culture
of Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County. She also serves as the liaison to local Church,
religious and civic communities. Sr. Marge sits on the Boards of the Burlington County
Community Health Advisory Group and the St. Joseph Regional Health Network.
MaryBeth Tubbs

Ms. Tubbs has overall responsibility for the administration and organization of Nursing throughout Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County. She works in close collaboration with her nursing leadership team and the Medical Staff to assure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Ms. Tubbs is a member of the Lumberton Board of Education.
James Wallace

Mr. Wallace serves as the liaison between Lourdes Health System and various community
organizations. He is responsible for promoting and advancing Lourdes advocacy initiatives
among key constituencies. Mr. Wallace is a member of the UMDNJ-SOM Community Advisory Board,
Secretary of the Board and Member of the Executive Committee of the Greater Camden Partnership,
a Board Member and member of the Legislative Committee of the Southern New Jersey Development
Council, and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey's Health, State Affairs
and Congressional Action Committees.
